There is a difference between out of print and out of copyright. If the book
is out of print and you can confirm this with the publisher then you can
photocopy the entire book for educational purposes only. You must be sure to
make the proper acknowledgements to the author etc. and you must keep
records of the advice you received from booksellers and publishers in case
you are contacted by the Copyright Agency or the publisher or author.

There are no provisions for reproducing or communicating computer software.
If you want reproduce software for educational purposes apart form making a
backup copy, you will need to request permission from the copyright owner.

The duration of copyright varies depending on the type of material.
Generally, copyright lasts the life of the author, plus 70 years after their
death.

(Taken from the Copyright Act 1968 and subsequent amendments).

The copyright situation of books not in print (and software no longer
purchasable) is an interesting issue.....
I have investigated with software and was told that after ceasing to sell
software, a company has the right to insist that no one (other than the past
original purchasers) uses it for eternity....
Wonder what the specifics are for books out of print ? 70 years 100 years ?
Tried to look up but cannot find ..... anyone know ?
