Hey Terri,

I tried to find the Max Tool Kit but struggled. Only found some
surveying software. Any clues?

Rachelle

Hi All,

Being report time etc, I can't remember if I replied to another email,
so I
apologise if I am repeating this here.

I teach at St Mary's College in Broome, the Kimberley WA. I am the k-12
ICT
specialist there. Although we are a couple of thousand km from a city,
there are fantastic things happening in ICT in the Catholic schools in
the
Kimberley. We have SMARTBoards, video conferencing and many other tools
and
programs.

It is great to hear there are a few people in a similar situation here.
This is now my 3rd year teaching primary classes, but like many of you I
am
originally a secondary teacher.

Software I recommend: TuxPaint, Tux Type (free to download), KidPix,
Inspiration is meant to be good, but I haven't been able to afford it
yet,
I do not use Max Tool kit with the littlies, even though I have heard it
is
great because I haven't seriously looked at buying as, that isn't what
they
have at home or at their cousins. MovieMaker is great and easy to use.
Tales Animator is another free program which is good to teach basic
programming concepts. Audacity is a good freebee for sound.

IT would be great if we could get this list up and running successfully
and
promote ICT at the primary level. It is sad that so many primary kids
do
not get the exposure to IT.

Regards, Terri.
