Join schools all around Australia, and get students collecting, sharing
and investigating data! ..

  http://reachforthestars.nlnw.edu.au/Core-activities

In 2008, this "national" activity will involve tossing coins onto a target
and recording the results obtained under several different conditions.
Details are currently being developed and will be made available through
this page.

There will be five collections of teacher support materials:

Pre-school
Early primary
Middle primary
Upper primary
Junior secondary
These will include:

Preliminary activities -- ideas for introducing the activity and helping
students to make some predictions and estimates, pose questions and so on.

Measuring and recording your data -- ways to approach these tasks with
students of different ages.

Investigating the data -- ways in which students might explore the data
they obtain from their own activities as well as the national summaries
which will be reported back to them.

In addition to the core activity, we will also be providing collections of
further activities for those wanting to expand on the theme.

Register your school now so that we can let you know when the materials
become available. http://reachforthestars.nlnw.edu.au/Coordinators
