As a government school all class machines have the MS graphical calc that
comes with Student 2006.
For student home use I recommend http://ccalc.shanebweb.com/ for a clear
simple calculator where students can just type in calculations as command
lines and get answers/ copy & paste etc.

Subject: [Offtopic] Two downloads from microsoft

Hi all,

If you are running windows machines, here are two worthwhile downloads. One
is a new network-diagnostic for XP, and the other is a gem of a calculator,
and unit converter. For eg length, area, energy, currencies, power,
pressure, weight etc, and convert between appropriate units.

1, Calculator Plus <http://www.microsoft.com/download/>
and then search for the File: CalcPlus.msi Size: 476 KB

2, Network Diagnostics for Windows XP

Article ID : 914440 July 25, 2006

The Network Diagnostics for Windows XP tool can help troubleshoot some of
the most common connection problems that you may encounter in a home
networking environment.

To diagnose network connectivity status, the Network Diagnostics for Windows
XP tool analyzes the following tests:

. IP configuration test
. Default gateway test
. Winsock test
. DNS test
. Firewall test
. Internet connectivity validation test

To obtain the Network Diagnostics for Windows XP tool ..
