Hi Daniel. We recently went to Moodle 1.9 under Centos authenticating on
Windows 2003 AD. We didn't ecounter the problem that you described.
However, we pretty much followed this link
http://weblog.bignerdranch.com/?p=6&page=1 to get things going. Hope
this helps.

Subject: [Moodle] LDAP authentication with Moodle 1.9

Dear List,

I am setting up Moodle 1.9 on a new Ubuntu server and am attempting to
set up LDAP authentication with a Windows 2003 Active Directory.
Previous set ups at other sites have used Moodle 1.8 to authenticate to
Windows 2003 Active Directories with no problems.

When connecting with LDAP authentication activated, I get the error:
LDAP-module cannot connect to any servers: Server: 'ldap://10.xxx.192.17
<ldap://10.135.192.17> ' Connection: 'Resource id #49' Bind result: ''

The usual trick of using Microsoft's ldp.exe tool to test the DN
settings and binding indicates the settings and bind user I am using are
correct.

Just wondering if anyone on this list has set up Moodle 1.9 with Active
Directory, and if any similar problems were experienced in doing so.

If anyone is interested I am happy to provide further debug logs or the
current settings that are in use. I have tried to work through this one
but the usual troubleshooting techniques have not quite helped.

Regards,
Daniel
