[Year 12 IT Apps] Update and Resources for Edulists

Hi folks
Attachments should work fine with Edulists.
I also post all attachments to the relevant web resource for the forum eg.
www.edulists.com.au , click on the study "leaf" on the tree.
You will find Robert's ( Hallworth ) normalisation activity posted there.
Any SACs, exams etc are password protected in these web sites to screen out
the general student population and only allow teachers access.
Passwords can be requested from the link on the home page on the left
navigation panel.
After the Yr 12 Exam there will be a new forum called
informatics at edulists.com.au to bring in the new name of the study. All
resources from the itapps at edulists.com.au forum will be archived and
accessible as a previous study just like the links seen currently at the
bottom of the www.eduists.com.au/itapps page refers to earlier incarnations
of the current study:

They are a great team at the DLTV office and whilst they don?t spam our
lists with posts, they do read, reflect and respond to feedback. Often as
easy as an email or follow up phone call. Glad you could work it out with

If there is something particular you are looking for to help plan for 2016,
I can imagine that you can directly contact the office for details.
Please don?t quote me but I have heard of work to create a dedicated domain
to host the DIgiCon stuff. Its a good idea and we may hear something shortly
about this. Keep an eye out on the DLTV eNews items or Twitter alerts.

One of the concerns I have about these normalisation discussions is that
there appear to be a lot of issues conflated into a single word
'normalisation', hence not leading to clear answers.
For example, when one says 'a clear and logical way to explain
normalisation' does one mean:
- explain what normalisation is
- explain why normalisation is needed
- explain how to recognise when a set of tables is (is not) normalised
- explain what the normal forms are
- explain how to arrive at each normal form
- explain why each normal form is defined the way it is (what it is trying
to prevent/achieve)
etc

never quite get there.
