But it’s not a security hole. It’s a factory reset option that apple tells people about. It’s like say I can hack your home router by doing a factory reset. The real issue is lazy journalism.

It's a dilemma for all those wishing to publicise security holes.

- If you advertise the problem, you tip off bad guys who can exploit it.

- If you discover the problem but keep it quiet, the bad guys who already know of it can continue exploiting the defenceless and unwashed masses.

There have been several cases of people being either patted on the back or slapped on the face for choosing  each alternative.

Hmmm.

I reckon the “hackers” got information on how to do this hack from the Apple website. How could Apple be so careless in allowing this information to be accessible by the public.
