[Year 12 IT Apps] Software Development

Hi All

I'm aware that this is the wrong list, however I have a request many may be able to assist with.

We don't currently/nor probably ever will get the numbers to offer Software Development, however we have our first very capable student who will be completing this via Distance next year.  As we are about to move the Year 11s into their Kick Start Program this week, I was wondering if anyone had any material they could send through that would be appropriate for the introductory content to the course. Something to keep her occupied for 3 or 4 periods.

Any suggestions on the programming language that most in this subject take up would be fantastic also.
