[Year 12 IT Apps] query criteria

Dear colleagues

The material supplied to students during SACs is a teacher/school decision. 10.1.1 in the Administrative Handbook states 'Students should be clearly informed of the timelines and the conditions under which assessment tasks are to be conducted, including whether any resources are permitted.' Resources could include 'cheat sheets', textbooks, notes etc. What is important of course is the nature of the task students are completing, for example, rewarding students for finding a definition in a textbook serves little or no purpose as all/most students would find this information, hence you have not been able to discriminate performance. If students are provided with formula, for example, then the task could ask them to select formulae to serve specific purposes, giving you points of discrimination.

Regards
Paula

Subject: [Year 12 IT Apps] query criteria

Hello All,

One of my Unit 3/4 students was asking why they don't get a cheat sheet with common query criteria, calculation examples and the like for SACS using MS Access. I said because you're not allowed same. I assume this is the case but am seeking clarification.
