The differences are rapidly diminishing. HDD were much cheaper but ssd is closing the gap. Today it's $110 for a 1Tb hdd and $185 for a 240 Gb SSD.
Sustained data rates are twice as fast for ssd.

SSD and flash (in same block on p290) are much the same thing albeit speeds are much different.
