[Year 12 IT Apps] Suggestion for a third VCE IT subject ...

Having just spend ten minutes working on an increasingly incoherent analysis
of the issue (that exam question is like Alice in Wonderland if you think
about it too much), I had to stop when considering what "file access"
actually *means*. Google doesn't find a reasonable definition.

Does 'file access' mean opening a file (and then maybe viewing/editing its
contents) or can it also mean *copying* a file (without opening it)?

As for the antivirus event logger, I bet it would only log infection
detection events, not all system file events. Can you imagine what would
happen to system performance if *every* file opening were logged by
Symantec?

An audit trail, however *would* log every system file event. It's the only
answer that makes sense to me, but it wasn't one of the options.

This question is really bugging me, and I suspect it's destined to become a
classic.

My cow died on this day two years ago. I know because I noted it in my
