Ah, right!  Thanks for your experiment.

So it's an Microsoft Access situation to have enforced referential 
integrity. (Do other RDBMS do this too?)

This is the problem with ITA.  We all tend to specialise in a particular 
make and model of software, and we tend to assume everyone else uses the 
same make and model...  including the examiners.

It's a dangerous parochialism - and the examiners must be extra-cautious 
when drafting software questions so they are not make/model prejudiced.
