[Year 12 IT Apps] Static Web sites

I think you're quite right. I guess we have to ask if we are teaching
future designers and developers or advanced consumers. Maybe adding
content to CMS frameworks should be a focus in ITApps which is more ICT
in business/management oriented than SofDev.

Meanwhile, what tools does a developer use to build a CMS framework?
Well they would probably be using Photoshop or Fireworks, Dreamweaver or Expressions as well as Netbeans and Aptana or other nasty Java/PHP/SQL based IDEs.

Just recently, on Fri, Apr 03, 2009 at 11:47:01AM +1100 in fact, Davies, Brett mentioned:
> Whether you use drupal, joomla or any other cms, there is still a requirement to build solid html/css and both dreamweaver and expression do this exceptionally well.
>
> A CMS is NOT a replacement for a web editor. A CMS is used to add functionality and allow those without html knowledge to edit content without destroying the design.
>
> Dreamweaver (and its competitors) is still an essential tool...whether building static sites or not
