I know what you mean Robert somedays I forget to take off my Turtle Shell but somedays it comes in handy !!

The hardest part of teaching is dealing with all the individual quirks.......

Geez Mark! I am sure that most of us realised that. Have you had some bad feedback off-list or locally?

But then I suppose that most Daily Organisers, Timetablers, etc are assumed to have no sense of humour by the majority of teachers :-)

By the way I have been both a DO and a TT. And in fact both at the same time for a number of years. Really develops a thick skin on your back :-)

Thought you might all need a laugh.

I sent the email below to all of our teachers and you should have seen the smoke rising from some of the co-ordinators.

	Subject: New arrangements for "greenies"

	Dear all

From the start of term 2 the following guidelines will apply to the allocation of extras:

	1. Extras will be allocated on the basis of "paying back" extras created. If you are sick or on a PD and create, for example, 3 extras then you will be liable for 3 "extras" over the week preceding the absence.

	2. Staff who fail to submit their extras by 4:00pm on the day before a "known" absence will be allocated two extra "extras" on their return.

	3. Staff who have the most time off will be allocated the most extras. Under this system senior staff, co-ordinators and part-time staff will take the majority of extras, teachers with a full allotment of "teaching" will take the least extras.

	thanks

	Mark Scott
