Yes, given that inflation is currently running at 4.1%, it doesn't even keep
pace with the CPI. And it was the best deal that the AEU could get!!

I know this is off-topic, but I thought you'd find it interesting. This has
been passed to many school principals - Surely it will disappoint many.

 

I won't send anymore about it, as it isn't quite related to the core
business of the mailing list.

 

In short:

 

The key features of the agreement are:

 

Four salary increases effective from the first pay period on or after:

4.9% - 1 May 2008

2.71% - 1 January 2009

2.71% - 1 January 2010

2.71% - 1 January 2011

Lump sum payment  on commencement of the agreement:

$2,000 - Principal Class

$1,500 - Leading Teacher range 2

$1,000 - Classroom teacher (with the exception of E-2, E-1 G-2 and G-1)
