Hi Andrew, I fully understand what you mean having both IT and Maths to offer myself as my methods.
Unfortunately I cant assist your quest but having read your post need to ask:  Where are you prepared to work, city/country? Are you after ongoing or contract?
Try www.teachers.on.net (I think this is its address..) register there online and be amazed what opportunities pop up. The job I have now was adverted on this site and it has heaps more.  Also, if you are prepared to 'break' your new contract and can swing it, I reckon you might find an opportunity about now (school year begins tomorrow and lots of staff get jobs about now!).
 
On a down side, unfortunately, many schools are integrating IT with the other disciplines due to the VELS structure so the number of opportunities for straight IT loads is shrinking (strange, because the industry need is the opposite!).
 
Good luck, look online and watch the papers.
 
Worst case scenario...get throught term 1 where you have accepted whilst looking elsewhere and see what happens for term 2.

I have a contract job teaching maths at a public school  but i want a IT job. The school I work at  just recently have told me they have changed my subject loading after i signed on as a IT teacher for 2008. I am very annoyed as i woudnt have accepted the job if i had know this would happen.

I am 37 and have worked over a year as a IT teacher and have done 6 years as a IT teacher in Tafe. Also I am fully registered.

I really want to teach IT and cant see any jobs in Melbourne for this.
