[Year 12 IT Apps] Gantt in U4O1

 I have noticed that the VITTA Support CD refers to project management
techniques like Gantt charts and task tables as part of the expected
tools student should be using for U4O1.
 
Is this the case according to the study design?
 
Whilst these tools may be useful if students do not have to use them
then their time can be best used on other prescribed outcomes etc.
 
Any comments?
