G'day, Jim.

When you say Visual Basic, are you speaking of VB 6 or VB .NET? Your question is topical for me as your message has arrived as I am working on a bit of example code to upload to Kevork's site. A great resource for VB .NET, if that's the version you're working with, is the newly released VITTA disk of resource by Adrian Jansen and Mark Ridgeway; I haven't yet seen that except in demo mode at the recent VITTA conference, but that would be one of the first resources I'd recommend.

A second question is, How many students are you looking at having?

Subject: [Year 12 Its] new to IS

  Hi to all,

I am new to Information Systems as of next year. I have taught IPM for many years, but because of our new four period day timetable for next year there is a clash with that block and I have to take the IS. The teacher who was supposed to take IS also has no experience in it (it didn't run this year either). I have dabbled in Visual Basic but have not taught it before. That will be our programming language. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to work with me and/or give me a hand getting started with ideas or resources?

  Thanks very much.

  Jim
