Dear ALL (apologies for any cross-postings)

 

The Term 3 meeting of the PC Education User Group of Victoria for 2005 will
be held on Tuesday 30th August at St Thomas MORE's School in HADFIELD
(http://www.stmhad.melb.catholic.edu.au) commencing at 4:30pm with light
refreshments (formal part of meeting to start at 5:00pm). Our host will be
Brian RILEY (IT Coordinator).

1.	St Thomas MORE's school are a SUN Microsystems Thin Client (125
desktops) site (their network diagram is available via their home page under
the Information Technology link). Brian RILEY will showcase/talk about their
network hardware/software.

2.	Clarky's update on 'The World of IT' (Ian CLARK)

3.	The rest of the meeting will feature a variety of offerings on some
non platform specific tools useful in an educational environment & some
curriculum resources available via the web (Roland GESTHUIZEN, Phil BROWN
&/or Steve MISSEN to present).

            30 Angus St  Hadfield (via Glenroy via the Western Ring Road)

There is car parking on the school grounds and the venue is in a computer
lab next to the car park.

There will be opportunity for further discussion and planning of future
PCEDUG meetings after the formal part of the meeting is over and, for those
that would like to, we will move on to a local restaurant in Moonee Ponds
(probably Spinella's - pasta/pizz/licensed) from around 6:45pm onwards for
our usual bite to eat and whatever.

Please advise if you are intending to come via email to
missen.stephen.j at edumail.vic.gov.au by Friday 26th August so that we can
provide for refreshments at the meeting accordingly.

Thanks to Brian RILEY, Roland GESTHUIZEN, Phil BROWN and Ian CLARK for
organising various components this particular evening and providing us with
some input.
