Paula (and other interested IT teachers)

Something to add to this discussion that I have considered for many
months - perhaps it is time to air my thoughts.

As IT teachers, should we not consider and possibly use new technologies
that exist in some of our schools to develop new methods of delivering
PD.

What about organizing the meetings as requested and then using Video
Conferencing between some of these "regional" centers and some of the
Melbourne sessions. Keep it small to start with to allow
cross-fertilisation of ideas in real time. I'd hope that the VCAA and
VITTA could see the benefit in providing some funding assistance to
those schools who may have this technology available and willing to
share it with others. Who knows, perhaps this may then be used by VCAA
for all of their PD in the future.

(Oh, if you haven't looked at Video Conferencing yet as a way to engage
your students, look at
http://www.kn.sbc.com/wired/vidconf/vidconfsearch.cfm?All=find+all+sites
&SiteName=&SiteType=&ContProv=&EquipType=&Country=&StateID=

It is a directory of 1196 video conference sites available for use as
educational settings. There are several other such sites.)

Over to everyone else for comments ... I'd be interested in other's
views.
