The links below more or less sum up where I think we are all heading towards
an environment where students are encouraged to acquire and bring their own
computer technology to school BYOT

management or control of learning. It's about helping students use the tools
and gifts they have at their disposal, maximizing that potential and showing
them new possibilities as well."
(think of tablet style computers they take home, not smuggled away in class
sets)

This is an article by a school system that decided rather then buying
students a laptop they would encourage all students to bring their own
technology to school everyday. The second link is the school website. Looks
like they are using Google apps and open office.
