[Design and Technology] Wildlife boxes to build for Mallacoota

Hi Design and Technologies teachers

Welcome back to the new school year. I hope 2020 is a productive year for
you all!

Given the number of schools responding to Elizabeth's call for interest in
making the wildlife boxes for East Gippsland/
Mallacoota, I thought I would post this screenshot from ABC
Gippsland,(Facebook) of the Bairnsdale Men's Shed as it is also involved in
making wildlife boxes. I'm uncertain what animals or birds these boxes will
shelter. I'm sure different sized boxes will be needed depending on which
animals or birds will use them.

In the 2017 edition of Technotes, an article was published by DATTA Vic on
the nesting boxes that Ken Aitken did with his Yea High School students
after the Black Saturday fires. It may be a useful resource for interested
teachers.

Kind regards, Lorraine Tran.
