We bought ours through PryTec who often come out to the conferences.

It doesn’t quite have the ease of use of the Trotec and Epilog lasers, but it does a fine job.

Can echo – we use it most days, in a lot of different ways.  Art, Viscomm benefit a great deal from it.  We cut architectural models and package nets with it with no fuss at all.

We have had a trotec speedy 360 for the past 3 years. It is used every day by kids from the primary school through to yr 12s. Also used by art, media, vis com, science- the list goes on. We could do with a few more of them. Has not missed a beat in 3 years.

Hi All,

There are a lot of emails flying around regarding 3D printers, are there not many schools using laser cutters?

We have 1 and in the market for a 2nd, I find laser cutters invaluable for students and projects.

After a few years of frustration with cheaper 3D printers we moved to the MakerBot Replicator+ and have been happy the results.
Possible payment option: Working with our Business Manager we have been able to bundle our 3D printers into the school's photocopier lease arrangement through Viatek.

We have MakerBots at our school
They are sturdy and are a good 3D printer .   Yes they are on the pricey side but we have never had a problem with them.
You can download the software from the MakerBot website to prep and print your models Also you need to take into account how many classes will be using them In my experience 1 printer is not enough We started with 3 a few years ago, we currently have 8 with a view to buy more for primary campus We have great service from where we purchased them from with parts and filament etc are easy to source and buy

What ever printer you buy you need to make sure there is after sales help, parts and materials are ready available to purchase
