Hi all
For a bit of inspiration, there is a brief article on the Materia website looking at flexible adaptive furniture using timber and a felt composite material.
https://materia.nl/article/flexible-furniture-felt-composite-lanisor-wood/?utm_source=Materia&utm_campaign=efac25ab60-Furniture+Made+From+Felt+Composite&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8794d00bd4-efac25ab60-302605849 <https://materia.nl/article/flexible-furniture-felt-composite-lanisor-wood/?utm_source=Materia&utm_campaign=efac25ab60-Furniture+Made+From+Felt+Composite&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8794d00bd4-efac25ab60-302605849>
Unfortunately, thick structural felt is fairly expensive (possibly the closest version is acoustic felt), but the forms and joining methods in the article could be used with other materials and might spark your students to think laterally.
All the best
Jill
