Hi all, advice needed.

My school has decided to modify the Year 8 Curriculum for 2018 so that all
Year 8 classes will have 2 x sessions Art and 2 x sessions of Food tech per
year. This means that they will no longer have the other 2 x sessions of
Technology Materials.

They will continue to have 2 x sessions a week of Technology Materials in
year 7.

They note that they have checked the Victorian Curriculum for design and
technologies and note that food specialisations and food production are two
of the four contexts studied. When they considered mapping out Year 7 and 8
Technologies studies for 2018+ they say students will, over the course of
two years, study materials and technology specialisations and food
specialisations obviously they are looking at food and materials being one
and the same thing (technology)

Is this enough to cover the victorian curriculum for materials technology?
I did hear a rumour that food would be taken out of technologies in the
near future?

Your thoughts?
