> Hi, sorry for cross posting. We managed to get teacher and student discount for this event.
> The lecture is brilliant, the Sydney one was on a couple of weeks ago. It is a great celebration of Australian technology.
>
> I could make reference here to how you would separate what Alex has done in his career into digital tech and design and tech, but I would leave you to do that.
>
> Highly recommended event .... Take a senior class, could change their lives.

>> Thursday 5 September (Thursday week) Dr Alex Zelinsky, Chief Defence Scientist & head of the DSTO, is presenting a talk on innovation in Melbourne (all the details are below & attached). This is an event hosted by The Warren Centre – our 2013 Innovation Lecture Series. I’m trying to make sure everyone knows about it and can come, not just from the commercial, industry, and business sectors, BUT also students (school students & university), and school teachers. I’m hoping you might be able to help me – by helping me promote the event, sending this info to your various contacts and colleagues, spanning any technology or engineering, science sectors as well as the economics & business schools, and also to any contacts at secondary schools in the Melbourne area that you may know.
>>
>> The talk is a reflection on Alex’s years of experience in developing and promoting innovation generally (and in technology innovation specifically) and provides a “masterclass” in how to do it, illustrated with examples from his career experiences. It is well suited to anyone interested in technology, engineering, science, business, commerce, research and how to tie it all together. There are lessons in this talk for all – especially students in any such subject (from school, through university, and those of us now merely “students of life itself” J). There are details in the email below and attached.
>>
>> Dr Graham Mitchell AO, VIC Chief Scientist will be giving the opening/introductory speech & introducing Alex.
>>
>> With the help of the event sponsors and especially the CSIRO we’ve been able to get the ticket price for students and school teachers down to just $10, including the networking session & technology exhibition with refreshments - drinks & canapés ($25 for general admission).
>>
>> So, in addition to reaching the commercial, business, industry, technology and university sectors generally (forward to anyone suitable) what I would really like to do is also get the message about this event out to schools / school students & teachers, especially in:
>> · Sciences & Mathematics
>> · Engineering, Technology & Design studies
>> · Commerce, Economic & Business
>>
>> Please feel free to forward details of this (including the attachment and/or the e-flyer message below) to anyone you think might be interested.
>>
>> Thanks! Hope to see you there.
>>
>> Regards,
