[Design and Technology] V.C.E D&T Exam study guide in Age

Hi Steve and Melissa

This is to follow up on Jacinta's email and the other earlier emails...

Both the Product cycle (related to a product's sales and profitability in the marketplace) and the Product development process are defined on page 41 of the Glossary of the VCE Design and Technology Study Design.

On the other hand the life cycle of a product (associated with Life Cycle Analysis which is defined on page 39 of the study design) is associated with the cradle to grave (or cradle to cradle) i.e. initial concept to disposal (or recycling) of a product.

Hope this helps to clarify the terminology.

Regards, Lorraine.

Hi Steve,

This are the 6 steps as I understand them, sometimes I think they don't count Research as a separate step as it also applies to each other step.

Hope this helps

Product design development & prototype
Product Manufacture & Distribution
Retail & Consumer Sales

Hi everybody, sorry for the group email, I know how annoying they can be. I am sure somebody on this list can help me out. In the Design tech text book, it's lists 5 stages of a products life cycle. In the VCE unit 1-4 books put out by TEAV, one of the SAC 3 revision sheets asks to list the 6 stages of the products life cycle. What is this 6th stage? Is there 5 or 6 stages?
Thankyou in advance.

The Age never do D&T, only the Herald Sun.
One thing with the advice though, having marked exams for many years I do not agree with one piece of advice in pitfalls.
It is not true that only tow answers will be looked at if three are given and one is wrong.
There are some questions where if the part a is wrong, part b is not marked, but I would not give the advice that this relates to all questions.
Cheers, Heather

Hi Melissa

Did you see the Monday's Herald Sun Design and Technology article in their VCE Exam Guide (page 57) written by Robin Panousieris?

It is up to the individual newspapers as to which VCE studies they select for inclusion in their exam guide. With so many VCE studies, it is just not possible for the newspaper to include each one, every year.

Regards, Lorraine.

Hi All,

Anyone know why D & T weren't included in The Age V.C.E Study Guide?
