Dear Lorraine or any other VCE Product Design and Technology Teacher:

I have been asked to include one Unit 1 and 2 student into my Year 10 Design and Technology (Wood/Plastics) class next year. I have had experience in the past doing this setup but I am wondering how I will handle Unit 2 (Collaborative Design) where the student is supposed to work in a team situation. Has anyone else had to work with a combined Year 10/VCE class and how did they organise it?

Hi Donna,

Are you able to circulate this invite to the EST network?

Thanks,

Nicole

VAEE and Sustainability Victoria invites you to take advantage of being among the first Victorian EfS practitioners and service providers to register with the Education for Sustainability Professional Learning Hub (the EfS Hub).

The Hub is an interactive online learning network designed to facilitate information exchange for professional learning support and knowledge development. One purpose of the Hub is to build a community of practice and support the provision of ongoing, demand based professional development opportunities for environmental educators. Developed in NSW and now available in Victoria thanks to Sustainability Victoria through an MoU to extend the capacity of the EfS Hub.

The EfS Hub (http://www.efslearninghub.net.au/) features:

ü A self-assessment kit (capabilities framework)

ü A calendar of professional development opportunities and events

ü A list of on-demand training options and suppliers

ü A library of resources and links to other EfS resources

As an EfS professional the EfS Hub connects you into the industry of providers and practitioners.

As a EfS service provider the EfS Hub puts your details in front of potential clients across Australia. It provides each registered Education for Sustainability (EfS) service provider with both an online business card and a full page listing in our on-line resources catalogue.

As an EfS practitioner the EfS Hub helps you to not only assess your skills and develop your own professional development learning plan in line with best practice Australia wide but also access to resources to progress your own learning.

Registration with the EfS Hub is free. To enable you to access and get the most out of the services the EfS Hub provides we will be running a webinar to introduce you to the ins and outs of EfS Hub so that you can get active and involved.

Please see details below:

Date and time:

Thursday 3rd November, 9:30 - 11:30am

About the webinar:

The webinar will be facilitated by Grahame Collier of T Issues Consultancy and Hazel Storey of The Storey Agency. Participants will be provided with a 1800-toll free number to access the phone element of the session. The online component will be accessed via a website (no software installation required). The webinar will cover the following topics:

· Walk through the website - including the capabilities framework (so you can build your own learning program), and the service providers' pages (how to upload your own providers profile and market your services) and the resources pages

· A chance to explore the site: understanding how to use the Hub to support your professional learning or to promote your business and services

· Consideration of the industry of EfS who are practitioners? What are their needs?

· Creating and maximising your on line profile - tips

· Uploading a product/event including discussion on uploading process /approval processes

· Troubleshooting and close

RSVP by Friday 28 October.

Please feel free to forward this invite to friends and colleagues who may wish to participate.

Regards,

Nicole
