Hi Lorraine

Brian Tanti's FR1 car will be launched at this year's Melbourne Motor
Show and the associated education program, though yet to be fully
developed, will get some early delivery opportunities through teacher
sessions being run in conjunction with the show.

Please note the following information

Design and Technology - Inspiration from Concept Cars

Rev Up your students in their Design studies for 2009

Audience: Teachers & Students in Years 9 and above studying Design and
Technology or Visual Communication and Design

Concept cars showcase new concepts, styling, technology and lead the way
forward for the automotive industry. The FR1 concept car is a modern
addition to this breed, built by volunteers from a range of areas of
automotive expertise. The primary aims of the FR1 project are to
showcase Australian science and design capabilities, stretch thinking
with regard to innovative use of materials and green power plants [the
car includes some "world-first" elements], and to build links into
education to awaken interest in careers in engineering and technology,
especially in automotives.

At the Melbourne Motor Show, a presentation targeted to school education
studies in design will be delivered by the team of developers about the
design and development of the car. In the presentation, students will be
shown what has inspired the design of the FR1 Concept Car, the
developmental stages and the skills and expertise that have been used by
personnel who have volunteered their services to the car's development.
