Dear colleagues

The Level 6 Employability skills Sample unit linked to VELS Standards,
Designing for a client is now available on the VELS website and can be
found using the following link:
http://vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au/support/level6/index.html Teachers could use
this format to adapt to a unit you conduct in your school. The sample
unit also includes information on assessment and an assessment rubric.

Annotated student work samples for Designing for a client can be found

It also incorporates the use of a couple of the student worksheets
developed for the Design Awareness in Schools project available at
http://vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au/support/dais/index.html (Design process).

Many thanks to the teachers who contributed their expertise to this
project. Please see the report and photos in the June VCAA Bulletin P -
10 Issue 35 available at

The Ins and Outs of Waste Sample unit may also be useful to look at, as
it goes into Life Cycle Analysis (relevant to VCE Design and Technology,
Unit 3, Outcome 2).

Regards, Lorraine.
