Subject: [Design and Technology] PS to the Assessment Handbook
deliverymessage

Hello again colleagues

Post Script to the previous message about the delivery of the Design and
Technology Assessment Handbook.

You will notice that the mark allocations for School-assessed Coursework
in the Design and Technology Assessment Handbook ((2007 - 2011) are
different to those in the new Design and Technology Study Design. The
mark allocations published in the assessment handbook are correct -
there will be a notice about changes to the mark allocations in the
study design in the November 2006 VCAA Bulletin. This change is to keep
the assessment task marks in proportion to the 12 marks (for Unit 3) and
8 marks (Unit 4) contribution to the study score.

The February 2007 VCAA Bulletin - School Assessment Supplement will
contain information (e.g. criteria, assessment sheet and Additional
Teacher Comment sheet) for the 2007 School-assessed Task. You won't find
them in the assessment handbook. The draft SAT criteria were provided at
the Design and Technology Implementation Workshops. (Note: there are
likely to be a few changes to the draft.)

Regards,

Lorraine.
