The following are webinars that are being run by us at the VCAA for Digital Technologies next week (Week 4 of Term 1) for teachers and leaders in schools. I have included all details and the links below.

1.      Monday 19 February        Sean Irving (VCAA Specialist Teacher)        4.00pm-5.00pm

Title:     Teaching to the Data and Information Strand (F-10)

Time:    1 hour

Abstract
The Data and Information strand of the Digital Technologies curriculum at Levels F-10 seeks to inform students about the world of data. Students learn about data, patterns, numbers, binary and data compression. They learn to collect, store and validate data, visualise data and how to plan, create, manage and communicate ideas. This session will introduce the thinking behind the Data Information strand of the Digital Technologies curriculum. It will provide suggested approaches to teaching and example student activities.

2.      Thursday 22 February      Darrel Branson (VCAA Specialist Teacher)                4.00pm-5.00pm

Title:      Visual Programming Languages in the Digital Technologies Curriculum (F-6)

Time:     1 hour

Abstract
This online session will be for teachers of the Digital Technologies curriculum from F-6 exploring visual programming languages for the first time. Algorithms and the programming environments of various apps and resources will be discussed. This session will be suitable for all F-6 teachers.
