[Informatics] PhD scholarship in Design, Technology in EC-Yr 12

Dear colleagues

If anyone is hankering to undertake a PhD and needs a research project (with a scholarship attached to it), you might be interested in applying for the following opportunity: The Center for Design Innovation at Swinburne University has a scholarship on offer for the right candidate who is interested in undertaking a PhD.

The project involves producing deep research towards:


1)       A model of appropriate developmental milestones in applied design led innovation from early emergent play, to sophisticated pioneering capabilities

2)       Robust conceptual foundations for capacity to engage in degrees of complexity related to our designed environment where people, ecology, and technologies interact towards addressing goals of impact and outcome.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will not need to have a design degree background. You will need to demonstrate the following:

  *   A Bachelor degree with honours (equivalent to 2A or above) and/or a master’s degree with clear research project components in a field either related to Design Innovation, Design and Technology, or educational development.
  *   International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination certificate with a minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual band score below 6.0
  *   Demonstrable ability to be self-motivated with an aptitude for research and development, including grant development.
  *   Good team-working, observational and communication skills, writing and presenting research or projects to an informed audience.
