Hi

Not sure if this is relevant here.

For the first in teaching Year 12 IPM through IT Apps and now Informatics that I do not have a Year 12 class in 2017. Although I have a Year 11 class of 16 to 18 next year after not having a Year 11 class for the last couple of years. I will need to go online to get some support material.

Interesting fact – My Year 1 VET ICT class numbers have doubled for 2017 – maybe because I do the network the more hands on support stream (very interesting!). I am almost at capacity in this class!

Off subject and this should be in the Year 7 to 10 IT thread – for the first time next year we have all Year 7 students doing DigiTech (one semester – 100 minutes); four Year 9 semester electives and two Year 10 semester electives in 2017. All goes well for the future after some lean years.

Regards

Hi
I've been doing this for the last two years and I must say this year it has been difficult as the majority of students were in year 11. Happy to chat offline.

Could hardly believe that within five minutes of reading your post, I had a call from our College Ops giving me a heads up that we may have to combine Year 11 (6 students) with a Year 12 (13 students) class. Had to check your email to see that it wasn't in fact an email from our school. Doesn't bear thinking about what 2018 will look like.

I said we can do it, but it's going to be difficult ...

Hello fellow Informaniacs,

Admin at our school have decided to merge Y11IT and Informatics classes next year. I am wondering if anyone who has taught a merged class could share their experiences either on list or off? Would also welcome other thoughts about it from interested parties.
