Hi all,
I’ve worked mine a bit differently:
Started unit 4 on 20/6
· Friday 22/7 for authentication of their completed designs (many should have already started MMOS build) – they will receive feedback on their progress and can update in future, but if students do work on it afterwards, they run the risk of rushing other areas of their project
· Friday 5/8 for authentication of their MMOS. Note that it does not need to be 100% completed but enough of the project needs completion for me to be able to prove the work is adequate to achieving an S for the outcome.
Start U4O2 for 4 weeks including assessment
During this time students can apply feedback on their MMOS and work on it outside of class if they need to improve. Students need to be able to authenticate all outside of class work as soon as possible to the date this occurs. Students filling in journals and being able to demonstrate how they completed main parts of their work is crucial to this process.
Students complete U4O2 at the latest date of Friday 2/9. I might be able to move the date for completion of U4O2 to Wednesday 31/8 depending on the length of the U4O2 assessment task. This gives students at least 5 and as many as 7 lessons in class to finalise their project.
· Friday 9/9 for final submission of SAT including evaluation and any authenticated updates to design/MMOS
Last week of term allocated for Unit 4 / examination revision
I honestly thought 9/9 was too early for the final submission with all of our other folio subjects (as far as I know) having a due date of 16/9 (final date available). I decided on a date a week earlier to be able to mark before holidays and assess S v N information as well as avoiding the issue where some of our students may have three folios due on the same day. I figure if I get my date in first it will become the first priority and work left to the last minute will be that of other subjects.

First day back of Term 3 for their designs

This leaves me with 5 weeks to cover the theory unit + some time early in Term 4 to do exam revision. I would like some more time as a majority of my classes fall on a Fri or Mon and there has been a lot of missed days for us so far with public holidays/school events etc..

If readability is to be tested in a student's MMOS, Word offers readability
stats in the form of Flesch statistics.
Also http://www.hemingwayapp.com gives quick and easy evidence of
readability and advice on how to improve text.

Hi there team,
Just wondering how much time people are planning on dedicating to U4O1 and U4O2 this semester? When are you asking your students to have U4O1 complete? Are you going to do this semester mixed mode covering both AOS or just focus on one at a time?
I'm just wanting to pin down some dates for my students here and I'm still of two minds about how to go about it and what might be best to make sure that they have adequate time dedicated to each area.
Thoughts anyone?

I started with U4O1 SAT Part 2 on 20th June. According to my student estimates (not including disruptions at college with all activities) planned to have it finished by one or before 1st August(with backup time of 4 days).
Start U4O2 by 5th August - end of Term 3( this has at least 1 week back time)
