It raises questions.

How did the inferior technology (VHS) supplant earlier and better tech
(Betamax)?

Why did the VCR stimulate the current frenzy over copyright?

Why did people spend $70 for copies of old movies?

How did the humble VCR inevitably lead to Limewire, torrents, and Netflix?
