Hi Ann,

This is a great resource. It clearly sets out all the steps involved in
decision making for an irrigation system - which is then easily
transferred to other ag-hort systems. I'll definitely be making use of
it.

Cheers

Subject: [Agriculture and Horticulture ] Irrigation resources

Hello All,
I have just attended the DPI and Shepparton Irrigation Region
Implementation Committee Research Reporting Day focussed on a range of
projects focussed on irrigation. There are some new resources, tools,
case studies and information online that may be useful for you and your
students. More will come available over coming months so I will
endeavour to let you know when and where!

I attended the workshop because I am doing some curriculum writing (part
time over next four months) for the Irrigation Futures Project - very
exciting and interesting project that used scenario planning to look at
the current irrigation practices and the future, under various
scenarios. The curriculum project is a partnership with LandLearn so you
will hear more about it through the usual LandLearn channels.

1) Victorian Resources Online > Natural Resources > Land and Water
Management > Farm Water Management > Irrigation Technology > Irrigation
System Selection and Design Guidelines (html 11kb) - 23 May 2007 at
www.dpi.vic.gov.au then select the link to Victorian Resources Online
from list on RHS
 - includes 4 case studies of farms where changes have been made to or
considered for irrigation systems.

2) Follow same steps to Irrigation Water Use Efficiency Benchmarking
for a summary of that project.

Regards,
Ann
