Hi peoples...
seems we need to provide docs that indicate a method to our (my) planning for my teachings to the years 8-10 cherubs.
Given that (at risk of stating the obvious) our subject is 'dynamic'(refer currency thread on lists now), would anyone have any 'planning docs' (with suitable VELS references) indicating typically what they are, or planning to, teach including topics, method, resources etc..that I may share and potentially modify(ie butcher!) to adapt to my own courses.
Any contributions would be gratefully(and greatfully) appreciated.
Email any stuff to my address below and preferably off-list.

Ta, muchly..(can do it myself, but am a big believer in not re-inventing the wheel if it aint necessary).

Thanks folks..
Kent.

Subject: [Yr7-10it] Games for Learning

> I was wondering what software (or softwares) would be used in developing

I have a list of a number of possible tools at
http://tonyforster.blogspot.com/2007/02/game-programming-tools.html

The ideal programming tool would be "low entry, high ceiling" that is it would be easy for beginners while having top end extensibility.

The following tools offer "iconic" programming with draggable blocks

Game Maker
Scratch
Etoys
TurtleArt

Scratch has the lowest entry, usable in lower primary. Etoys and Game Maker both have high ceiling but Game maker has the lower entry of the two.

Game Maker is only available on Windows, TurtleArt is only for Sugar, the OS of the OLPC.

All are free, at least in the lite version.
