Yes Fiona, my students and I had the same experience as Jenny - we tried
.jpgs but only had luck with .bmps, which of course will increase the file
size. I'm assuming it's because databases are products that may be printed
so they need the better quality of a .bmp, as opposed to being displayed on
the web with only 72dpi (but I may be totally off the right track!).

Fiona yes Access does take images in a field but I could only get it
working with an *******.bmp file. Image resizing then became the issue.
So bmp files of the same dimensions is what I consider necessary for
