<p><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">Hi all, like a lot of you we run a Headstart week at the end of this year (next week and two days the week after) to give the students a taster of the unit and set the ever lovely summer holiday reading/homework.
Now that I’ve got two days to knock something together (exams marked, yay!), I was contemplating starting with the Networks topic (Outcome 2). In the past I’ve tried talking about outcomes and satisfactory completion etc., which always goes down like a lead
balloon, and some spreadsheets as part of Outcome 1, which the kids lose in computer handover over the holidays.

<p><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">At the moment I’m thinking of doing the Outcome completely by mid-February (4 weeks and change), leaving the rest of term 1 (5 weeks) for Outcome 1 (data and graphic solutions) and all of term 2 for Outcome
3 (collaboration and communication). I can’t see anything in the key knowledge or skills that says “do this first”.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
