<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">The way I tackled it was to make the course into modules which were either self-paced or direct instruction so that when 11’s were having direct instruction
the 12’s were doing self-paced and vice versa.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">I relied heavily on using screencastOmatic to record the work for both classes rather than using pre prepared work. The reason is because using someone else’s
exercises means the students will strike problems you don’t anticipate and perhaps can’t debug really quickly. When you are so pressed for class time being intimately familiar with the work you give saves huge amounts of time and bother even though the prep
sucks.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

be treated as such. Schools should not compromise the students nor the teacher. I think it undermines our profession by putting teachers into a position that they feel personally responsible for the continuation of the subject. Within my department we have
all agreed that we will not accept this as our past experience means an overworked teacher and students (esp. yr 11) not getting the attention they deserve. We accept that the subject may not run.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
