Hi Adrian,
If it is possible to get a copy of those disks - that would be awesome.
In spite of my Unit Two class comprising three kids doing CISCO through
their VET, two year ten's who have never done programming and 7 Sudanese
refugee students with limited English those Simmer tutorials are
fantastic - thanks for the heads-up!

Hey Adrian, any chance I could have a copy of the disks too? The filters
on my system here dont let me download stuff, well, limited stuff
anyway. (vb.net wasn't it?)

Have started with some worksheets on VB6 that antonia(I think) created
that I got from this list recently. Am using them with my year 9 class
and some of the brighter sparks in y8. That scratch program has just
'taken off!' in my classes at different levels...it is quick to learn
and the kids can get scripts up and running quick and easily. It has
'energized' my classes (and that energized me too!). The best bit
is..the troublesome boys now are really keen to do it too..no more
trouble.
Finally, something that is not games that the kids are busting to
do...LUV IT!

Sludge is CRAP!

Have found various sites on the net with VB6 tutes and learning tools...
I think I am going to really enjoy semester 2 with my 7-10 classes more
than the first somehow..

Cheers all

Hi List

Myself and my Tech guy are having trouble downloading visual basic
express form Microsoft due to accessing via a proxy server. How have
other schools got around this problem or does someone have the full
installation file for download rather than the Bootstrapper.

I am out of options if I cant download Visual Basic Express as I am
unfamiliar with programming and was planning on using Adrian Janson's
tutorials.

Any help with this would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks again list

Dear all -

Apologies for the cross posting. Swinburne University of Technology is
hosting an all-day event for Year 10 and 11 students interested in ICT
and Engineering. The program consists of four main sessions:

"GR8 Expectations - Changing the world with telecommunications" looks at
the history of telecommunications from Morse Code to 4G.

"An Inconvenient Network - Sustaining the Internet" unveils the hidden
costs associated with the internet and how we can make the
telecommunications process more sustainable.

"VOIP & Online Games Workshop" where student participate in hands-on
activities in our labs.

"World Of Intelligent Robots" gives students an appreciation of robotics
and mechatronics by allowing them to program and operate model robots.

The following website contains more information about the program and
the online registration form. Places are limited so I would encourage
you to register your students early.
