Sorry Ros...MY KIDS are going to take the 10 Grand for using their noodles to doodle for Google!  (nothin like a little friendly competition and a chuckle I say!)

On reading the info from http://www.google.com.au/doodle4google/info.html 

*	the doodle can be in pencil, crayons, felt tip, paint, or can be done using computer drawing or design software. 

My 2 year 8 classes are going to be doing this - our school is already entered  - and students will be encouraged to use any software they like, although I will allow them to use paper.

It will be one of their assessment tasks.

I thought of getting my other IT classes (Year 9 and 10s) to vote for the 8 doodles which we will submit as entries.

In discussion with one of my year 8 classes today they seemed quite enthusiastic.

And our school could certainly do with $10,000 worth of hardware!!! (dreaming!)

We're doing an 'in-house' version of it too. It seemed like a great idea and a handy tool to get the kids enthusiastic. The graphics/art department are doing the manual version and the computer classes are doing our own version of the electronic version.

The kids love it! Its a great chance to learn another use for graphic manipulation based software (adobe..)

Only issue I have is that a max of 8 per school..'we' have 2 year levels worth of kid doing stuff! (manually AND electronically).
