Guest Speakers:

*Luke Jackson*

In 2012, Luke co-founded a multimedia company dedicated to producing
materials that engage students in immersive educational experiences. These
games attracted philanthropic and government funding to support their
development. Luke acted as project manager for 18 months, during which he
was in charge of up to 20 artists and programmers working in Melbourne,
Brisbane, and Mumbai. In late 2013, Luke began a PhD at Deakin University
to explore the complexities of writing narrative-based educational games.
He is now fully immersed in this burgeoning area of inquiry, and regularly
speaks with game writers and designers from within the broader games
industry and from within the educational games industry. Luke is the author
of five published books, four aimed at teenagers and one aimed at young
children. He has also written extensively for Australian education
providers.

*Luke Deylen*

Luke Deylen is a Creative Technologist at Clemenger BBDO. He is a good
friend of PixelEd, and started his career journey in the VET in Schools
Multimedia program. He has presented to students at the Top Designs forum
at Melbourne Museum for the past 3 years. He’s been in the advertising
industry for five years, working for DT and Clemenger BBDO, two very well
respected agencies in Melbourne. His clients have included BMW Mini Cooper
and Coca Cola. He has worked on projects such as KFC Snack in the Face,
(which reached number one on the iTunes weekly downloads ladder), Bank of
Melbourne QJumper and once had to make a love testing machine to promote
his company. Luke creates digital interactive experiences and his passion
is in creating tangible digital solutions with a focus on games.

Best wishes,

 Marian
