Creative Careers
Creative Careers is also worth coming in for, especially with your unit 1/2 students as it covers some of the Work in Industry UOC.

Students learn about working within design, media and art institutions and are offered insights into creative career pathways. They also have the opportunity to ask questions about starting out and achieving their career goals. Suitable for Years 9-12, TAFE, Tertiary students and Teachers. Allow extra time for exhibition visit.

Intermix has some really interesting things on. Intermix, is for young creative people outside of school hours (usually weekends)

Intermix Film Critics: Analysing Animation
Bring your friends to this special screening of Persepolis (Paronnaud/Satrapi, 96 mins, France) followed by an inclusive post film discussion with the Melbourne International Animation Festival <http://www.miaf.net/> director, Malcolm Turner.

Persepolis <https://vimeo.com/392358> is the critically praised adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's graphic novel of the same name. The autobiographical story follows the remarkable life of an outspoken Iranian girl who grows up during the Iranian revolution. Outspoken and confident Marji's zest for life is at odds with a country in transition, but an escape to a better life is more complicated then it may first appear.

After the film, Turner will lead a broad and inclusive discussion about storytelling in animation providing a new perspective on how to engage with animated film. This is a fantastic opportunity to get an insider's view on this year's festival.
