Hi Anthony,
I bought a set of 24 Wacom Intuos3 6"x8"tablets last year and managed to get them for about $200 each. I personally think they are a huge benefit for animating, creating digital drawings or retouching photos. I use mine all the time . They come with a pressure sensitive pen that has three different nibs.
The Intuos 3 has since been superseded by the Intuos 4 which has a scroll wheel and programable buttons but are almost twice the price.
Wacom also make a Graphire and Bamboo series which are progressively cheaper and with slightly less functionality.
And there is also the top of the range Cintiq which is outrageously expensive but brilliant to work with.
The price details from wacom.com.au are inflated and there are much cheaper deals around.
I got ours from Center-Com after haggling paid $218.
Happy shopping
Yours Sincerely
