Hi Fran, I'm guessing you mean you have to combine the last year of the old Cert 3 with the first year of the new Cert 3? It's similar to what I did this year with twelve Cert 2s and twelve Cert 3s together. It worked fairly well for the Cert 2s who are a motivated lot, but the Cert 3s needed much more care and attention than I was able to give them in the circumstances, partly because they are not the most dedicated of students, but partly because there is so much theory in Cert 3. I just constantly felt like I was short-changing them. I wouldn't do it again, given a choice,
Marian

Subject: [vet-mm] Running new Cert II and old Cert III in same class??

Hi all,

Just wanted an opinion... Basically I have been told that if I want the VET
MM Subject to ru at Cert II and Cert III next year, I will need to have a
combined class - or the Cert II class will not run.

Considering the new training package, and then teaching old the Cert III
course as well, what are some other people's feelings about doing this... Am
I crazy to accept it? Obviously I want both classes to run, so that there
will be a class next year too... But wondering if I should have my head
read...

Thoughts??

Regards,

Fran
