Hi John,

Make an input text box to receive the name.
Give the input a variable name ( e.g. nameIn )in the Properties of the
input text box.
Make a Dynamic text box to receive the output.
Give the dynamic text box the same variable name ( e.g. nameIn ) in its
Properties.

Give that a try and see how you go.

Cheers,

Subject: [vet-mm] text question in flash

Hi Guys,

Could someone please explain to me how I use text in Flash to allow the
user to enter their name (or anything for that matter) while the program
is running and then have a display like "Hello NAME how are you today?"
?

Many Thanks,

John

Subject: [vet-mm] TP comparison

Hi everyone

The new CUF07 training package is up on the NTIS web site although it
doesn't seem to appear when you do a search for it, so the direct link
to it
is:

http://www.ntis.gov.au/Default.aspx?/trainingpackage/CUF07/download

I have done a quick comparison to the current / soon to be old CUF01
training package and it is certainly a new direction. It has amalgamated
all
of the TV, Radio and Multimedia qualifications into a couple of
qualifications and provided streams within them depending on which way
students want to branch out.

My guess for what it is worth is that students will be offered the
CUF20107
Certificate II in Creative Industries (Media) in the first year and then
CUF30107 Certificate III in Media in the second year and the electives
will
be selected to reflect a multimedia stream.

Given that the Cert II is now not nested into the Cert III
qualification, my
guess is that students will only be offered partial completion of the
Cert
III which I find to be a big issue given that the TAFE's do not appear
to be
offering much in the way of pathways for students with partially
completed
qualifications.

I have attached a comparison document as a starting point for people to
look
at and hopefully there will be an opportunity at the VITTA conference to
have a workshop to look at how it can be implemented next year.

Kind regards
