[vet-mm] hello out there?

Hi Katie,
You wouldn't believe it, I have 17 new emails today - I suspect edumail is playing with my head:)
I know what you mean about the elements and principles - they are different again in VCD, so I pity the kids who do all three subjects. By the way have you checked the VCAA Cert III documentation as to what elements and principles they use. It would be good if they provided us with definitions too - I have a great deal of trouble explaining UNITY in any meaningful way. Also I would have thought contrast would rate a mention.
You are right, you can choose either video or audio, as long as your RTO has authorised you to teach both, and the hours are vastly different. But they are just nominal hours anyway, we don't have to stick to them, they are just for funding purposes at Cert II. They only become an issue in Cert III.
Thanks for the hello,
Marian

Hey Marion, Mario and everyone in my cyberspace,
Again, i am not teaching yr.12 Multimedia so i haven't been harassing you
all. However, I do have year 11's, i am introducing them to the design
elements and princliples and they are confused that they are different
from the list they get in art.
by the way, is it correct that the video and audio units at year 11
either/or and if so why aren't they the same nominal hours.
I have found it very interesting to hear how 15 hours can be interpreted,
also some of the more elite colleges bigin their year 12 in tterm 4 of the
previous year.
anyway, nothing important really just saying hello back.
cheers
katie
