Reinventing the Media Classroom - merging the old and the new

INITIAL ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

The 2005 Australian Teachers of Media State Conference (ATOM) will be held
in Melbourne. Formal papers, workshops and presentations are sought from
academics, teachers and practitioners for Reinventing the Media Classroom -
merging the old and the new.  The conference will include a Keynote address
by Adrian Martin, a popular film critic and speaker.

The committee would be pleased to receive expressions of interest, with an
abstract of your proposed paper or workshop, no longer than one A4 page.
Abstracts are due by Friday 26th August 2005 and should be forwarded by
email to atom at atomvic.org.

* Abstracts are due by Friday 26th August 2005
* Full papers are due Monday 31st October

Papers may fit the following time slots:
20 minutes ­ for short but effective lesson ideas or activities
1.5 hours ­ for workshops and seminars (all computer workshops should assume
a basic level of knowledge of relevant software)


INDUSTRY PRESENTATIONS

Companies, industry organisations and tertiary institutions who would like
to purchase a display booth or run specific presentations for the Conference
should contact Amber Nelson at ATOM for prices and details.
